To take part in William Chris Vineyards’ 2025 Artist Blend Contest, please review the rules and guidelines below. When you’re ready, you’ll find a link to the artist submission page at the bottom of this page.

Official Guidelines

Please read carefully. 

Entries must be received between:

September 16th – October 26th, 2025 at 11:59 PM CDT

All works must be your original work. (No copies or prints of your original work.) 

We are not accepting AI-generated or digital artwork. We ask all submissions be created by hand, using traditional or physical media such as painting, illustration, mixed-media, or similar approaches.

Art dimensions can be ANY SIZE, but remember that these go on a wine bottle, so it is better if your art is formatted in more of a square shape. It will also be on display at William Chris Vineyards.

We will accept up to 3 submissions per artist.

NOTE: The winner must sign over all rights to the winning art submission, and the artwork will become the property of William Chris Vineyards to promote and package our annual Artist Blend.

How to Enter:

  1. Each entrant is required to complete the official registration form located below. By entering your name, you acknowledge you are signing off on all terms and conditions.*
  2. After the submission period closes on October 26th, 2025, a panel of judges from the William Chris team will select 10-15 finalists from the artwork submissions.
  3. Finalists will be notified during the first week of November.
  4. Once we narrow down the finalists, William Chris Vineyards will host an art exhibit across a series of upcoming events for our Hye Society wine club members. Voting will be held “people’s choice” style popular vote. The winning artist will be notified before the end of the year followed by a public announcement and reveal in 2026.

About the Artist Blend Series

Every year since 2010, the Artist Blend has featured the artwork of a different talented artist. Inspired by the creative minds within the founding families, this series has grown into a competition that celebrates artists from all over, who submit their artwork into a contest where the winner is featured on the label of each new vintage. 

The label artwork for our latest vintage, 2023, is “L’Ardeur” by San Antonio-based artist Taylor S. Monroe, which is described as ‘inspired by jazz and his experience with synaesthesia…capturing the depth and layers of earth, sediment, and fruit that bring wine to life.’ 

Our Artist Blend series is renowned for the art on the bottle and the wine in the bottle. The 2023 vintage, a blend of 44% Mourvèdre, 32% Grenache, 21% Syrah, 3% Tannat, was awarded 94 points by Decanter, reviewed by Jonathan Cristaldi in August 2025. 

The Grand Prize

  • The winner will have their artwork featured on the label of the 2024 vintage of Artist Blend from William Chris Vineyards.
  • Artist’s Artwork will be featured during William Chris Vineyard’s April Club Release.
  • Receive a case of the Artist Blend (Valued over $600).
  • Receive an “industry discount” on William Chris wines for one year. 

Terms and Conditions

Original artwork will not be needed at the release parties where voting takes place. William Chris will create high-quality posters to display the Finalists for voting at the November Release Parties.

The only original artwork needed on-site will be the final winner.

THE WINNER’S PAINTING BECOMES THE PROPERTY OF WILLIAM CHRIS VINEYARDS.

The winner must sign over all rights to the winning art submission, and the artwork will become the property of William Chris Vineyards to promote and package the 2024 vintage of our Artist Blend.
