2026 April Release

Featuring 2024 Artist Blend

This April release is a special one. The 2024 Artist Blend is built from the classic Rhône trio of Grenache, Syrah, and Mourvèdre. For your April Club, we’re also releasing the individual vineyard bottlings of those same component grapes. It’s a rare opportunity to experience how each variety contributes to the final blend.

These wines are extremely limited. The 2024 Grenache, Vintage Press Vineyard, and 2024 Syrah, Dell Valley Vineyard, will be club-only wines with small quantities. The 2024 Artist Blend will be available exclusively at the vineyard during release weekends, and it will not be offered online this year. It is expected to sell out quickly.

Revealing the 2024 artist blend

Desert Daydreamer

Spring has arrived at Hye Estate, and with it comes one of our most anticipated releases of the year, the 2024 Artist Blend.

Each year, this wine celebrates the intersection of Texas wine and Texas creativity. After receiving more than 400 submissions from artists across the state, our club members helped select this year’s winning artwork, “Desert Daydreamer,” which now graces the label of the 2024 vintage. We’re honored to feature the work of Renée D’Arienzo, a Dripping Springs artist whose vibrant style and deep Texas roots made her piece an unforgettable choice for this year’s blend.

Renée D’Arienzo is a Texas native who discovered her passion for art at an early age. She went on to earn a BFA in Studio Art from Texas State University.

What began as small house projects soon turned into a mural business that became her primary focus. She uses and appreciates all paint but house paint has become her favorite medium. For over 16 years, Renée has specialized in custom commissions and large-scale murals across Texas. She particularly loves capturing the unique personality of pets in her portraits and collaborating with clients to transform spaces into something truly personal and meaningful.

Her work can be seen in prominent locations, including Texas Children’s Hospital, one of the 3D Stars sculptures on Mercer Street in downtown Dripping Springs (titled Everlasting), and various interior and exterior installations for local businesses throughout the Austin and Dripping Springs areas.Along the way, Renée has cherished sharing this creative journey with her children, showing them firsthand how pursuing your dreams can lead to a deeply rewarding life.

She currently lives in Dripping Springs, Texas, with her family, where she continues to create custom artwork and murals that bring joy and character to homes, businesses, and public spaces.

April Release Wines

2024 Artist Blend

Vintage Press Vineyard

This year’s Artist Blend features the traditional varieties Grenache, Mourvèdre, and Syrah, along with our usual “twist” of Tannat, all from Vintage Press Vineyard, down the road from Hye Estate. Inside the bottle, the wine has clear layers from each grape variety – aromatics, savoriness, structure, and softness. It transforms in the glass or decanter from light-hearted to serious, with an ever-loosening “grip” and subtle cedar dryness. Medium-bodied.

2024 Grenache

Vintage Press Vineyard

Taking the primary slot in GSM blends such as the Artist Blend, just a small amount is left over for bottling individually. This rare Texas Grenache from the same vineyard as our flagship blend is truly classic for the variety. – plus and floral, with the delightfully boozy cherry quality that it’s known for. In a blend, it’s clear in this wine that Grenache becomes the bringer of weight, aromatics, and playfulness.

2024 Mourvèdre

La Pradera Vineyard

The classic savory characters of Mourvèdre play up in this wine with wild berries, smoke, and Texas herbs. As a cornerstone of our program, Mourvèdre finds itself as a more significant portion than typical in blends and in an array of single-variety, single-vineyard wines that shine a light on this variety’s chameleon-like expression of the land.

2024 Syrah

Dell Valley Vineyard

A grape variety of character and depth, Syrah brings dark fruit and savoriness to a blend that is different than the meaty qualities of Mourvèdre. Herbs, tomato, leather, slate, and terra cotta can all be found in this Dell Valley Syrah, grown on the ancient river bed at the foot of the highest range in Texas – Guadalupe Peak. This wine expresses its sense of place through indulgent weight, grand tannins, and a berry compote finish.

April Release Parties

Our April Release Parties also bring back one of our favorite traditions, the Winemakers Competition. Chris Brundrett, Bill Blackmon, Tony Offill, and Reece Sowell have each crafted a unique blend for the occasion. Guests will taste all four wines and cast their vote to decide which blend takes the crown.

Throughout the afternoon, guests can enjoy a preview of a few of our new release wines paired with bites from our in-house culinary team, live music on the lawn, and a relaxed Hill Country gathering with fellow club members.

For those looking to deepen the experience, join us for The Art of the Pairing, an instructional tasting that explores how food and wine interact to create memorable combinations.
