Tasting Notes
Crunchy red berries lead the aroma, which is laced by subtleties of anise, black tea, and earth. The classic minerality that we've seen from Vintage Press Vineyard peaks through. On the palate the fruit is so pure and focused that the tannins already feel harmonious. Full-bodied.

The Vineyard
AVA: Texas Hill Country
In 2016 Doug Wilcox planted 12 acres of Grenache, Mourvèdre, Syrah, and Tannat, just a stones' throw from Hye in Stonewall, Texas. The close proximity to William Chris Vineyards allows for our teams to work together to help the fruit showcase what is special about this particular site, home to the clay loam soil over limestone that runs through the old Pedernales River Basin.
Vintage Press Vineyard, Texas Hill Country AVA, Gillespie County. Age of Vines: 6 years. Soil Type: Clay loam over limestone. Elevation: 1,516 feet.
