Tasting Notes

Deep and comforting, this wine is a slow burn. It unfolds in layers - baking spices, then red berries and beet root, then woodsy tones of cedar and maplewood. The palate is exotically spiced, with "edginess" that keeps it lively. Full-bodied, mouthwatering, and layered.

The Vineyard

AVA: Texas High Plains

Vineyards: Alta Loma Vineyard, La Pradera Vineyard

Sourced from the Texas High Plains, the second-largest designated grape-growing region in Texas. Spanning 8 million acres, it is responsible for the majority of the wine grapes grown in the state. A rare set of growing conditions makes this area unique. On the vast flat plain, the vineyards reach elevations of 3,000 to 4,000 feet, resulting in great balance.

Alta Loma Vineyard, La Pradera Vineyard, Texas High Plains AVA. Age of Vines: 8-14 years. Soil Type: Iron-rich sandy loam over limestone. Elevation: 3,200-3,300 feet.
