Tasting Notes
Cream and red fruits mingle on the nose with a subtle orange peel and zest from herb and citrus. Mineral and peach aromas play around on the nose. The palate is just medium-bodied, with nice weight that wraps around the laser beam of acidity. Dry and Provençal in style.
Winemaking
Fermented in stainless steel tank for 28 days. Aged for 7 months in stainless steel tank.
Food Pairing
Pair with many types of food, especially fresh fish, steamed vegetables, and risotto with medium cheeses.
The Vineyard
La Pradera Vineyard, Terry County, Texas High Plains AVA. Established in 2010 by Mike and Barbara Paddack with the help of Texas grape-growers Andy and Lauren Timmons, who also currently manage the 120 acres. The different grape varieties are planted on a special soil combination that is calcareous, organic, sandy loam over limestone that is just 2-3 feet deep in some blocks. The wines are aromatic and fresh in style.
La Pradera Vineyard, Terry County. Age of Vines: 14 years. Soil Type: Amarillo fine sandy loam over limestone base. Elevation: 3,300 ft.
