Tasting Notes
Each message on the label is universal, as is the style of wine. A uniquely Texan blend, the wine is serious and layered. This wine has the ability to develop over time, just like the bonds of friendship and love that this wine embodies.
Winemaking
Fermented separately for 12 days on average in stainless steel tanks. 30% of Sangiovese went through 14-day extended maceration. Aged 16 months in mostly neutral French oak barrels (around 3% new).
Food Pairing
Friendly alongside many hearty dishes with savory components, and firm cheeses.
The Vineyard
Alta Loma Vineyard, Lost Draw Vineyard, La Pradera Vineyard, Vintage Press Vineyard (2%) AVA: Texas High Plains Sourced primarily from the Texas High Plains, the second largest designated grape-growing region in Texas. Spanning 8 million acres, it is responsible for the majority of the wine grapes grown in the state. A rare set of growing conditions make this area unique. On a vast flat plain, the vineyards reach elevations of 3,000 to 4,000 feet, resulting in great balance.
Alta Loma, Lost Draw, La Pradera and Vintage Press Vineyards, Texas High Plains AVA. Age of Vines: 7-18 years. Soil Type: Sandy and clay loam over limestone. Elevation: 3,100-3,600 ft.
