2023 Stolen Parts

Striking in color and deep on the nose, with crushed stone, boysenberry, and kindled coffee bean. The aroma is cool rather than rich or thick - nicely mysterious. It explodes on the palate with a structure that begs for decanting or bottle age. Highly mineral, focused acidity, and firm tannins structure, laced by tart blackberries on the finish.

Varieties: 75% Tannat, 25% Grenache

100% destemmed. Fermented in a large oak fermenter. Aged for 10 months in neutral oak barrels to preserve aromatics. 

Serve at 59°F | Decant for 45 minutes

ABV: 13.4% | pH: 3.84 | TA: 6.00 g/L | RS: 1.80 g/L 

game meat, especially elk medallions with a red wine jus and an herb component.

AVA: Texas Hill Country

In 2016, Doug Wilcox planted 12 acres of grapes near Hye, Texas, in the Texas Hill County AVA. The Texas hill Country is the largest designated grape-growing region in Texas spanning 9 million acres, and is home to some of the oldest soils in the United States.
