Tasting Notes
Deeply pink in color. Delicious aromas of guava, peach, red apple and river rock! The palate has a ripe peach juiciness, with lingering strawberry notes that last past fresh acidity and the dry finish. A slight rich warmth comes on the finish. Medium body.
Winemaking
All varieties were fermented separately for an average of 25 days. The wines were then blended after primary fermentation. Aged for 5 months in stainless steel tank. No malolactic fermentation.
Food Pairing
Pair with thick flake fish, including bass, halibut, and even freshwater salmon. Or, a strawberry salad.
The Vineyard
This blend sources fruit from two vineyards: Friesen Family Vineyard and La Pradera Vineyard, both in the Texas High Plains AVA. La Pradera Vineyard has been a proud partner of William Chris Vineyards since 2012. The Texas High Plains AVA is the second largest designated grape-growing region in Texas, spanning nearly 8 million acres, where co-founder Bill Blackmon planted his first vineyards in 1984. The region sits on a flat, high sandy plain at 3,000-4,000 feet elevation.
