Tasting Notes

Well-structured and juicy, this wine leads with a rush of ripe red wild strawberries, raspberry compote and a hint of black cherry skin. The wine is laced by the hallmark fresh herbs, flowers and earth aromas of the Mourvèdre grape at Farmhouse Vineyards. Nearly full-bodied.

Winemaking

Fermented in large oak fermenter for 15 days before a 30-day extended maceration on the skins. Aged in 10% new French oak barrels and 90% neutral oak barrels for 16 months.

Food Pairing

Pair with wild boar sausage and charred brisket. Or, get creative with a spring vegetable latke!

The Vineyard

In 2010 the Seaton & Furgeson brother and sister-in-law combo planted 30 acres of grapevines to add to their collection of acres of cotton, grains, pumpkins, melons and more. Dedicated to warm climate grape varieties, the 8 generations who are currently farming this land in the Texas High Plains champion the idea of wine as a product of honest labor.
