Tasting Notes

As the fruit comes the wine yields unctuous notes of fresh raspberry, sweet pomegranate, gentle white flowers, and a white pepper edge. The palate is full and broad across the palate, coating the mouth with flavors of red fruit balanced by good tannins, dryness, and kiss of tart relief.

The Vineyard

AVA: Texas Hill Country

In 2016 Doug Wilcox planted 12 acres of the four grape varieties used in the Artist Blend, just a stones' throw from Hye, in Stonewall, Texas. The Texas hill Country is the largest designated grape-growing region in Texas, spanning 9 million acres, and is home to some of the oldest soils and subsoil in the United States.
