Tasting Notes
"The Hye Estate delivers a fatter wine with more density and creamy textures than the Vintage Press Vineyard Tannat... The 2020 offers bay leaf notes that lift from its ruby-coloured core, nuanced by spiced plums, milk chocolate, and saline minerality. Very fine tannins are crisp, and the finish is long and spicy." - Decanter Wine Review by Jonathan Cristaldi (92 points, August 2024)

The Vineyard
AVA: Texas Hill Country
Hye Estate was planted in 2012 on seven of the 26 acres of William Chris Vineyards in the city of Hye. Previously home to a family with a generous turkey population, the land is now a uniquely nitrogen-rich, clay-dried river basin over limestone bedrock. Hye Estate has been dedicated since its establishment to the successful grapes in southwest France.
Elevation: 1,450 ft. Soil: Riverbed, limestone, nitrogen rich. Age of vines: 11 years.
