Friesen Vineyard was established by John W. Friesen just south of Brownfield, in Gaines County. The sandy loam soil of the surrounding area is met with the more unique caliche soil at this specific site. The 34 acres are planted to Grenache, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon, and recent plantings of Petit Manseng and Souzão.
