Tannat is dark, powerful, and tannic grape from south west France. It thrives in the sunshine, and can produce standout wines. Densely packed with blackberry and blueberry, tomato leaf, a hint of sun dried tomato. Very savory, this would do well with meat and potatoes on the menu.
Winemaking
Fermentation took 7 days in French oak foudreIt was aged 18 months in 50% neutral and 50% new French oak barrels
Food Pairing
Tannat does great with roasted meats and stews, and requires bolder dishes to stand up to the strength of its structure and flavor profile.
