The Vineyard
AVA: Texas Hill Country
Hye Estate is home to 26 acres of tasting rooms, production facilities, an old farmhouse, and about 6.5 total acres of grapevines. Planted in 2012, the Tannat vines are rooted in nitrogen-rich soil previously under the riverbed. That, combined with a limestone base, has made for a powerful combination. The thick skin of Tannat has been crucial, given the humid conditions of the Texas Hill Country.
