The grapes were machine-harvested from our estate. After fermentation and pressing, it was aged for 18 months in neutral oak barrels.

The Vineyard
Texas Hill Country AVA
The Hye Estate Vineyard is situated in the middle of the Texas Hill Country AVA, about an hour west of Austin and an hour north of San Antonio. About 6.5 acres of vines are planted on soil marked by the bottom layers of rocky riverbed that give way to limestone. The soil is also quite rich in nitrogen thanks to the turkey farm that once dominated the area. This vineyard is located on the same property where our wines are produced, and we've been growing grapes here since 2010.
