2016 Tempranillo – Parr Vineyard

100% Tempranillo

After fermenting this wine in large oak fermenters, our winemaking team extended skin maceration (time on the skins) by an additional 2 weeks to increase the transfer of color, tannin, and body. It was then aged for 18 months in 30% new hybrid barrels with French oak staves and American oak heads.

AVA: Texas Hill Country

Robb and Dilek Parr established Parr Vineyards in 2006 on 15 acres in Mason, Texas. The vines here thrive in well-drained soil and a cool microclimate, which allows the grapes to grow in a diurnal shift with warm days and fairly cool nights, retaining a vibrant acidity that increases the aging potential of the wines made from Parr grapes.
