Parr Vineyards is in Mason County, which is in the Texas Hill Country AVA, just north west of Hye.Owners Robb and Dilek Parr planted this Tempranillo block in 2009. The vineyard is situated on avery unique soil type for the Texas Hill Country called Upper Hickory soil, which is not the typicalcalcareous soil that dominates the region, but is instead decomposed granite, quartz gravel, and sandwith a sandstone underbase. Another distinctive quality of this vineyard and its soil, is that it has alower pH level than most in Texas. This is our third vintage of Parr Tempranillo and its bold fruit andmineral characteristics obtained from this vineyard year after year are unmatched
