Authentic Texas Wine

Growing Texas Wine since 2008

At William Chris Vineyards, we believe the best wines are grown right here in Texas soil. Founded by William “Bill” Blackmon and Chris Brundrett, our wines tell the story of this land — its grit, grace, and honest beauty. Every bottle is a piece of our world, and we’re proud to share it with y’all.

The First and Only Texas Winery Named Among the World's 50 Best Vineyards

We’re honored to share that William Chris Vineyards has been named one of the World’s 50 Best Vineyards, earning the No. 31 spot among the most celebrated wine destinations across the globe and becoming the first and only Texas winery ever to make the list.

This recognition is a milestone for Texas wine and a testament to the heart, grit, and craftsmanship of the growers, families, and communities who make this work possible. From our “grown, not made” philosophy to the warm hospitality that greets every guest in Hye, this award reflects the spirit of the Hill Country as much as the wines themselves.

We’d love to share this moment with you. Come raise a glass with us in Hye and experience firsthand what earned Texas a place on the world wine map.

Annual Black-Eyed Pea Cook Off

Our Black-Eyed Pea Cook-Off returns on January 1st, and we’re turning the vineyard into a celebration of food, music, and Texas wine. Come enjoy a New Year’s plate, a glass of WCV wine, and live music as we welcome 2026 together.

Feeling competitive? Put your best recipe on the table and win the grand prize! Form a team, enter your pot in the cook-off, and let the crowd decide who starts the year as Black-Eyed Pea Champions.

What People Are Saying

We Grow Wine

In 2008, William Chris Vineyards was born in Hye, Texas. Utilizing Old-World winemaking techniques, Chris and Bill sought to create a genuine expression of Texas’ distinctive grape-growing regions. Our approach is founded on the idea that great wines are not made, but grown. Each new vintage seeks to provide a level of quality wine that represents the very best of Texas terroir.
