Fermented at warm temperatures for restrained tannin extraction for 6 days in stainless and concrete vessels. Aged in 20% new French oak barriques and 80% neutral oak puncheons for 34 months.

AVA: Texas Hill Country

Hye Estate is home to 20 acres of tasting rooms, production facilities, an old farmhouse, and about 6.5 total acres of grapevines. Planted in 2012 and 2015, just under 2 acres of Tannat vines are rooted in nitrogen-rich soil that was previously under riverbed. That, combined with a limestone base, has made for a powerful grape with incredible aromatic potential. Because of its success in humid conditions, Tannat will continue to be planted here.
