2023 Petit Verdot – La Pradera Vineyard

Tart red berries and juicy plum commingle on the nose with fragrant wild roses. Texas Petit Verdot can have a deep crème du violet character that gives this wine a sensation of plum tea with cream. The palate is dry, with impactful juiciness and lean tannins with a velvety texture.

Aged in 25% new French oak barrels and 75% neutral barrels for 20 months. Racked once after 6 months of aging, then back to the original barrels for the remainder of the aging period.

Pair with rich, savory dishes - pâté, duck confit, venison with plum jus, or forest mushroom bisque.

Sourced from La Pradera Vineyard, Terry County, within the Texas High Plains AVA. Established in 2010 by Mike and Barbara Paddack with the help of Texas grape-growers Andy and Lauren Timmons, who currently manage the 120 acres. The vineyard's soil is a special combination that is calcareous, organic, sandy loam over limestone that is just 2-3 feet deep in some blocks, producing wines that are aromatic and fresh in style.
