2022 Sangiovese – Alta Loma Vineyard

Sour raspberry, wild strawberry, and rhubarb aromas under folds of chocolate shavings, pistachio shell, and black pepper as the wine opens up. Decant to explore the wine's nuances in this wine. Medium-bodied, complimenting tannins, and good acidity to balance a generous texture.

Varieties: 100% Sangiovese

Fermented in stainless steel tank for 14 days. Aged in 15% new French oak barrels and 85% neutral barrels for 17 months.

Serve at 59°F | Decant

Duck with port-cherry glaze, braised oxtail, and sun-dried tomato fettuccini Alfredo.

AVA: Texas High Plains

Alta Loma Vineyard is a spectacular growing site in Terry County, owned and farmed by the Burran and Floyd families. Established in 2016 with fewer than 10 acres of Syrah and Sangiovese, they have since planted two more varieties that have proven sustainability in the region, including Mourvèdre. Their sandy loam soil is well-drained, making it well-suited to the hardy varieties they have selected to plant.
