Tasting Notes

Traditionally crisp, dry, and floral, this year's Mary Ruth does not disappoint. Stony, tropical, herbaceous, and peach, the playful notes of this wine are complimented by a medium body and white almond notes lacing the edge of the aroma.

Winemaking

Muscat blanc and Malvasia co-fermented in stainless steel, Sauvignon Blanc in the neutral large oak fermenter, and Blanc du Bois separately in stainless steel.

Food Pairing

The garden! Go for something refreshing, crisp to compliment to the wine's floral notes, and salt to boost the body.

The Vineyard

This wine sources grapes from three corners of Texas: Dell Valley Vineyard in the far West (high elevation, ideal for balance in white varieties), John Dale Vineyard in Washington County to the East (planted solely to Blanc du Bois, which withstands the humid, warm conditions there), and Farmhouse Vineyards in the Texas High Plains. Together they represent all of Texas. Age of Vines: Varied. Soil Type: Varied sandy loam with some limestone and clay. Elevation: Average 600-3,800 ft.
