Winemaking
Varieties: 32% Syrah, 30% Grenache, 27% Mourvèdre, 11% Tannat.
Fermented in oak fermenter, stainless steel, and concrete for 15 days. Grenache aged in concrete. All others aged in 16% new French oak barrels and 5% new Eastern European oak barrels for 18 months.

The Vineyard
AVA: Texas Hill Country
In 2016 Doug Wilcox planted 12 acres of the four grape varieties used in the Artist Blend, just a stone's throw from Hye, in Stonewall, Texas. The Hill Country is the largest designated grape-growing region in Texas, spanning 9 million acres, and is home to some of the oldest soils and subsoil in the United States.
Elevation: 1,450 ft. Soil type: Clay loam over limestone. Age of vines: 6 years.
