Tasting Notes

This wine really shows off its Marsanne. The intense aromatics are floral and white peachy, with Roussanne's lemon curd and cream notes, and whisps of hay. The palate is nutty, with a refreshing through-line, medium body, and age-worthiness in the structure.

Winemaking

Fermented in small neutral French oak barrels. Aged in 100% neutral French oak barrels for a short 7 months before bottling.

Food Pairing

Pair with rich seafoods with butter, a squeeze of lemon, and even squash soup, chicken or pork dishes.

The Vineyard

Uplift Vineyard, Texas Hill Country. Formerly Hoover Valley Vineyard, renamed to represent the spirit of our industry, as well as the ancient geographical feature called the Llano Uplift that it is located on. This feature is a product of magmatic eruption and then erosion that exposed the hardened granite and mineral beneath, which appear uplifted as a result. These 55 acres of southern French and Mediterranean grape varieties were planted in the Hoover's Valley in 2013.

Uplift Vineyard, Texas Hill Country. Age of Vines: 9 years. Soil Type: Decomposed granite with sandy loam pockets, and mineral. Elevation: 860-880 ft.
