01 · Our Story

Founded in Hye, 2008

William Chris Vineyards was founded in 2008 by Chris Brundrett and Bill Blackmon in the historic town of Hye, Texas. In the years since, they've become champions of Texas winemaking and helped put the Lone Star State on the wine map.

Nestled in the Hill Country, William Chris Vineyards combines time-honored winemaking traditions with a respect for Texas' unique terroir, creating wines that reflect the bold, welcoming spirit of the state. Over the years, William Chris has expanded its estate vineyard production and forged strong partnerships with top grape farmers across Texas to source high-quality fruit. The winemaking team takes a low-intervention approach, letting the character of Texas' land shine through in every bottle.

At its core, William Chris Vineyards is about more than making wine; it's about fostering connections, honoring the land, and showing the world that Texas can hold its own in the global wine community.

Brand Summary

William Chris Vineyards is unapologetically Texan.

We are not trying to disguise where our wine comes from or convince people to love Texas wine despite being from Texas. We believe Texas is capable of producing world-class wine, and we are proud to put that belief on display every day.

For almost two decades, we have helped push the quality and reputation of Texas wine forward. As one of the world's Top 50 Vineyards, we represent a standard of quality, hospitality, and authenticity that stands alongside the best wine regions in the world.

But world-class doesn't mean stuffy.

We're just as comfortable pouring wine in cowboy boots as we are hosting a multi-course dinner. We believe great wine should be approachable, welcoming, and shared with others. Our tasting rooms are built for families, friends, and anyone curious enough to pull up a chair.

William Chris was not built by investors chasing trends or a billionaire's passion project. It started with a dream, a belief in Texas grapes, and a willingness to work hard for something worth building. That spirit still guides us today.

We make serious wines, but we don't take ourselves too seriously.

“Enchanté, y'all” captures it perfectly. A little French. A little Texan. Entirely William Chris.

04 · Logo Usage

Rules of the Mark

Always

  • Keep the script, the star and VINEYARDS locked at their drawn relationship.
  • Give clear space on all sides equal to the height of the VINEYARDS lettering.
  • Use one flat colour: Cellar Black, Weathered Gold, or Limestone reversed.
  • Place it on a plain field, or a calm area of a photograph.
  • Reach for the primary logo by default. The alternates are for merch and signage, not formal use.

Never

  • Re-arrange or separate the logo elements.
  • Change the fonts, or re-set VINEYARDS in another face.
  • Outline it, or add a drop shadow, emboss or gradient.
  • Stretch or squeeze it.
  • Recolour it outside the four brand colours.
  • Never let AI generate or approximate the logo. Always place the actual logo file.

When in doubt, contact marketing for assistance.

05

Brand Colours

Four colours, and no fifth. Limestone is the ground, Cellar Black is the type, Weathered Gold is the brand, and Rustic Red is the accent that carries a whole panel when it appears.

Proportion

Limestone carries most of any layout. Cellar Black is type and line, not fill. Weathered Gold marks the brand — a logo, a rule, an eyebrow — rather than filling large areas, except where a piece wants to feel ceremonial. Rustic Red arrives as a whole panel or not at all.

06

Fonts

Four faces, each with one job. If a piece needs a fifth, it needs an edit instead.

Headlines — High Tower Text Italic

Texas-grown wines that stand anywhere

All headers and section titles. Always uppercase and letterspaced, roughly 0.15–0.3em — the tracking is what makes it read as William Chris.

Body copy — Garamond Pro

We make serious wines, but we don't take ourselves too seriously.

All running text, on labels and off. Sentence case, generous leading, 65-character measure.

“Enchanté, y'all” script — Narto Script

Enchanté, y'all

The catch phrase, and only the catch phrase. Never a headline, never body copy, never a second line of it on the same piece.

Rustic signage — Tay Lennon

Hye, Texas

Merch, property signage and murals, where the brand gets to be louder. Not for documents, labels or anything formal.

07 · Secondary Brand Marks

Enchanté, Y'all

Our trademarked catch phrase, and the least formal thing we own. It works as a brand mark on its own — it says Texas wine without having to say it. We have fans with “Enchanté, Y'all” tattoos.

Enchante Y'all script mark

Script Mark

The freest version. Merch, social, hand-lettered applications.

Enchante Y'all circular stamp, Hye Tex, est 2008

Circular Stamp

Where the phrase needs to carry the full name and the place. Stickers, tissue, coasters, apparel.

Enchante stamp reversed on Cellar Black

Reversed

Limestone on Cellar Black or Rustic Red. One flat colour, always.

Trademarked. Never redraw it, re-letter it, or set the phrase in another typeface.

08 · Secondary Brand Marks

The Vine Seal & The Vine

Hye Texas est 2008 William Chris Vineyards vine seal

The Vine Seal

Our stamp of quality, and it belongs on our labels. That is what it is for — it should primarily be used for that purpose, and it loses its meaning if it starts appearing on everything.

The William Chris vine logo

The Vine

The vine on its own is a core part of our brand and our story. It works as an additional brand mark, but it resonates most with people who already know that story — it requires explanation. Good for membership usage.

09

Alternate Wordmarks

Used primarily on merch and on property signage and murals, to give a more rustic Texas vibe where we may want to be a little more playful and less formal. They read better at a distance and at small sizes. They are not a replacement for the primary logo in formal uses.

William Chris Vineyards rustic script wordmark

Rustic Script

The everyday merch mark. Reads warm and casual at any size.

William Chris Vineyards arched wordmark

Arched

Collegiate and loud. Hats, tees, murals, anything read across a room.

William Chris short script wordmark

Short Script

Name only, no VINEYARDS. For narrow spaces and secondary placements.

Merch & Accents

Additional branded graphic elements, used as needed.

WC monogram initials

The Initials

Commonly on the front pocket of t-shirts. Works well for vertical formats where the logo is too wide.

The four-point star

The Star

On the top of all of our corks. The smallest unit of the brand.

Cowboy riding a wine bottle

The Cowboy

Quickly becoming a fan favourite. Sticking around beyond the original Top 50 announcement.

11 · Packaging

Label Colour Coding

Label ground colour tells you what kind of wine it is before you read a word. The lockup, the vine seal and the typographic hierarchy stay identical; only the field changes.

ROSÉ & MULTI

Warm Cream

Rosé, wholesale and multi-vineyard bottlings.

SINGLE VARIETAL

Single vineyard, single varietal. Mourvèdre, La Pradera.

Award-winning luxury wines.

Say

Texas-grown wines that can stand on any table in the world.

Internal Is Not External

We have our own shorthand, and it does real work inside the building. WOFUC and WOFUCER carry our values for the team, and the middle-finger photos are an in-joke with years behind them. None of it travels.

Said out loud to an untrained ear, WOFUCER is just a swear word, and a guest who catches it in a tasting room has no way to know otherwise. So it stays off the floor, out of customer conversations, off social, out of decks that leave the company, and away from anything a guest, a retailer or a journalist might see or overhear. Same for the photos.

If the value behind the shorthand is worth saying to a guest, say the value.

How It Sounds

Confident without the swagger. We state what we do and let the wine settle the argument — no defending Texas, no apologising for it either. We are happy to explain anything and we never assume the reader already knows; knowledgeable is not the same as showing off.

Playful, never campy. A joke is fine; a bit is not. Cowboy boots are real here, so they never need to be a costume. And world-class is something other people say about us — in our own voice it comes out as specifics: the vineyard, the farmer, the year, the work.
