Who we are

Prior to their partnership, both Bill and Chris had numerous years of experience growing grapes in Texas. Since the two established the William Chris Vineyards brand, a beautiful story continues to be written. Not only driven by the passion of our founders but also the community they continue to build as the business grows. Our vineyard partners, winemakers, and team members make Bill and Chris's vision a reality.

The moment you pull off Highway 290 onto the William Chris grounds, you can't help but be in awe of the natural beauty of the Texas Hill Country. From the simple charm of our original farmhouse to the modern tasting room surrounded by an active vineyard - all elements of our property are beautifully suited to their terroir and expressive of our reverence for the past and vision for the future. The history and agricultural heritage of this place are on display, set against the backdrop of the Pedernales River Basin. We invite you to come and discover all that we have to offer at William Chris.
 
CHILDREN AND PETS:
 
If you will have children in your group, please call us or email reservations@williamchriswines.com to set up your visit accordingly (appropriate number of seats, and bubble wands ready for the kids). We will also recommend the best tasting experience for you to enjoy with little ones in tow!
 
If you plan on bringing your pet, unfortunately, we can not accommodate pets indoors. However, you are more than welcome to come and enjoy bottle and glass service outside on our lawn with your furry friend (no reservation required).
Note: All pets must be on a leash while on the property.
 
 
 FOOD & DRINK: Outside food and drink (other than water) are currently not allowed. We offer charcuterie boards to complement your tasting, picnic packs to enjoy on the lawn, and a seasonal Vineyard Table Experience if you're looking for culinary options during your visit.

WINEMAKER'S TASTING

Let our knowledgeable tasting room ambassadors guide you through an educational wine tasting as you enjoy views of the Texas Hill Country.

This experience lasts approximately 45 minutes, and we ask that you arrive 10 minutes prior to your reservation time, so we can greet you.

Exclusively for our Hye Society members, this new tasting room opened in August 2019. Enjoy spectacular views of the Hye Estate vineyards and take in an educational wine experience featuring complimentary reservations for up to 6.

The Vineyard Table Experience

The Vineyard Table Experience at Hye Estate is an elevated experience featuring expertly selected seasonal food & wine pairings. During this tasting, you will be taken through four wines paired with housemade culinary creations (two cold, two hot) that allow you to compare the wine before and after bites for a memorable and educational experience.

Picnic Lunch

Planning a trip out to the Hill Country? Reserve a William Chris Vineyards picnic lunch prepared by Executive Chef Josh Tye to enjoy outdoors on our lawn where we have wine available for purchase and ample seating options. Each house-made lunch includes a gourmet sandwich, seasonal salad, fresh fruit, Rambler sparkling waters, and a little something sweet.

We are so excited you chose to visit William Chris Vineyards for your large group! This tasting includes one bottle of wine from our tasting room menu for every two guests, a picnic pack for every guest, and a reserved table on the Pavilion for 2-hours. Available 7 days a week!

What to Expect

During your wine tasting experience, you will discover our passion for Texas winegrowing and be inspired to continue exploring lesser-known varietals that best express the unique terroir of the Lone Star State. Outdoor deck and pavilion seating provides breathtaking panoramic views of the rolling hills behind rows of lush grapevines. Picnic tables under our historic oak grove also provide a serene area for enjoying food and wine with friends.
 
We offer live music on the weekends and snack plates to satisfy your appetite. We even provide cold water, fans, blankets, and outdoor heaters to keep you comfortable if you choose to take a seat outdoors no matter the season.
 
Note: All large group tastings are scheduled outdoors under the covered pavilion.
 
Whether you are a frequent guest or new to the Texas Hill Country, we invite you to grab a glass, kick your feet up and enjoy laid-back luxury and real Texas wine.
 

Pet Policy

Out of consideration for all of our guests, dog lovers as well as those who are not, we require your four-legged friends to remain outside and on a leash. No pets are allowed inside the tasting room without service animal designation/certification. We also kindly request you follow these guidelines when bringing pets to the vineyard:

  • Dogs are to remain on a leash at all times.
  • Please help us keep this property beautiful, clean up after your dog. Bags and receptacles are provided.
  • Pet owners are responsible for their dog’s behavior - please remain attentive.
  • Dogs MUST be up to date on all shots.
  • Be mindful of your neighbors, and be courteous.
  • Dogs who display any type of aggression are not allowed.
